As a film critic, I owe it to the filmmakers to diffuse all ego and bias, observe each film objectively, and analyze them through a filmmaker’s lens and from the perspective of every major player: the actor(s), the director, the producers, the screenwriter, the composers, and the rest of the crew. Considering how incredibly difficult it is to make a film, I don’t agree with the approach many other critics take, that of knee-jerk reactions and petty grievances, resorting to insults, and ultimately providing neither constructive nor productive contributions to the art forms of film criticism and cinema. In the end, we are all film lovers at heart, first and foremost, and therefore we owe the artists contributing to this medium analyses that are insightful, well-informed, and respectful to craft.
I am well-versed in utilizing my knowledge and insight for conducting productive yet relaxed interviews. Some of the actors and directors I have interviewed are Armie Hammer, Stanley Tucci, Val Kilmer, Terry O’Quinn, Kurtwood Smith, Travis Mathews, Michael Dorman, Michael Chernus, and Mike Ott. I am honored to have assisted Val Kilmer’s PR team to promote the upcoming film adaptation of his one-man play, “Cinema Twain,” titled “Mark Twain and Mary Baker Eddy. ” Check out what he had to say about his project during our interview.
Being that I am a rather sentimental person, I will always remember the first time a film review of mine was published. It was the first nationally published review of “Silence” in the San Francisco Examiner. The first of countless more!

Check out my short: “A Fireside Chat With Grandma”, during which my grandmother discusses her childhood, our Armenian heritage, the importance of family, and the preservation of one’s culture through values, memories, food, and love.
I am in the process of making this into a longer documentary short that I will submit to several film festivals. Stay tuned!
